Code of Standards and Ethics of the American Resort Development Association
This Code was adopted unanimously February 20, 1986 by the Board of Directors of the American Resort Development Association, and last amended and ratified on May 4, 2004.
Timeshare Customer Bill of Rights
This Firm (Company may insert its name) is a proud member of the American Resort
Development Association (ARDA) and as a member is committed to honoring its Code of
Standard and Ethics. To make that Code more meaningful to you, we have adopted the
following Timeshare Customer Bill of Rights. For more information, please ask your sales
representative or a member of our staff. Thank you.
1. You are the most important person in our business; without our owners and potential
owners, we have nothing to offer our community or our industry.
2. You have the right to be treated with dignity and respect during the sales process. If at
any time you feel uncomfortable, please let us know so we may address your concerns.
3. You have the right to stop the sales presentation at any time. If you choose to end the
sales presentation, you will be treated courteously and may choose to leave the sales center
without any further obligation.
4. You have the right to have all promises and representations given to you in writing.
5. You have the right to have this vacation product explained fully and fairly, without
misrepresentation of any kind. You also have the right to ask questions and to receive answers
to those questions.
6. As part of the sales presentation, we will provide you with a public offering statement
and other project documents. We encourage you to read these documents carefully and ask
questions before you make your decision to purchase.
7. Most states provide vacation ownership purchasers the right to rescind the purchase
within a set period of time after signing purchase documents. We will honor, explain and
respect this right. We will promptly refund any monies paid as provided by law.
8. We are proud of the industry and specifically the product we offer. Therefore, we will
present the benefits of our product without making any misleading, incorrect, or untrue
statements or insinuations about the products offered by our competitors.
9. We realize that some questions may arise only after the sales presentation and the
subsequent purchase; therefore, we will provide you with the name and phone number of a
person who will be available during regular business hours to answer any questions you may
have.
10. We are committed to offering vacation ownership owners the fulfillment of their vacation
dreams.
